The
150 km2 Dorlin property is held by Guyanor since 1993. Located
60 km east of Maripasoula and accessible by fixed-wing aircraft
as well as by boat during the rainy season, Dorlin has been
a source of gold for almost a century. It is underlain by a
volcano-sedimentary sequence of the Paramaca Group, which has
been intruded by younger granitic rocks.

Exploration
has included geological and geochemical survey, augering and
core drilling. Of particular interest is the Montagne Nivré area in the south, where a volcanogenic tourmaline-quartz-pyrite
breccia (similar to Loulo deposit, West Africa) is being investigated
for its gold potential. |

On this
project my tasks were :
- Supervision
of deep auger drilling and logging (9 to 15 m).
- Trench sampling.
- Diamond drill hole logging (geology, structure and geotech).
- Data input, mapping (Autocad and Surfer), and generation
of drill hole sections (Pcxplor).
